Public competition for eight positions for interested individuals to become member in LEAP Kosovo

Pristina, April 19, 2019 – Kosovo Law Institute in cooperation with CLARD, Fair Trials Europe and Helsinki Committee, is in process of implementation of the project “Advancing the rights of defendants in criminal proceeding”, supported by the Dutch Embassy in Pristina through MATRA project.

The purpose of this project is promotion of the rights of defendants for a fair court process in Kosovo. KLI through this project in cooperation with CLARD, Fair Trials Europe and Helsinki Committee, aims to establish Legal Expert Advisory Panel in the Republic of Kosovo (LEAP Kosovo) and membership in the European Legal Experts Network of Fair Trials (LEAP).

LEAP Kosovo among others will be engaged in research and promotion of practices in Kosovo that for aim have respecting the rights of defendants in criminal procedure for a fair judgment. Among others the project has for aim advocacy to public institutions regarding approximation of legislation and implementation of standards of the European Union, practice of the European Court for the Human Rights, as well as representation of cases that will have an impact in building judicial practices for a fair judgment.

LEAP is composed from 200 organizations with representatives from legal firms, civil society and academics that cover 28 member states of the European Union.

LEAP Kosovo will base its engagement on voluntary work and for aim has increase of civic activism in promoting human rights and freedoms in Kosovo.

Kosovo Law Institute, in order to initiate the establishment of LEAP Kosovo, announces vacancy for eight (8) positions for interested individuals to join in LEAP Kosovo.

Those interested to join in LEAP Kosovo should fill these conditions:

  1. Licensed lawyer by the Kosovo Bar Association, experienced in criminal law or knowledge on human rights and freedoms;
  2. Professor from the Faculties of Law of the Republic of Kosovo experienced in criminal law or knowledge on human rights and freedoms;
  3. Representatives from civil society professionally highly qualified and experienced in criminal law or knowledge from the field of human rights.

Interested candidates should submit letter of expression of interest and to send a recap regarding professional preparation and work experience.

All interested should apply on e-mail info@kli-ks.org, attaching a letter of expression of interest for the position, recap, as well as on the title of e-mail to write LEAP Kosovo.

Application deadline from April 19 2019, until May 14 2019.

Sent application will be reviewed by the panel composed with representatives from KLI, CLARD, Helsinki Committee and Dutch Embassy.

Only successful candidates will be selected for further procedures for membership in LEAP Kosovo.
