Pristina, 22 February 2019 – Kosovo Bar Association and Kosovo Law Institute have signed a memorandum of understanding, with the aim of enhancing cooperation for the benefit of both institutions in the service of citizens and the justice system in general.
In the framework of this inter-institutional cooperation, signed by the President of KBA, Mr. Osman Havolli and Executive Director of the KLI, Ehat Miftaraj, KBA and KLI, will be involved in exchanging experiences and mutual expertise on:
- The field of providing free legal aid;
- Participation in focus groups or working groups related to the advancement or improvement of the rule of law;
- Continuing legal education and other areas of interest of both parties which aim to strengthen the rule of law improving access to justice;
- Promoting and respecting the rights of persons subject to court proceedings in criminal, civil and administrative matters.
Kosovo Bar Association – is an independent professional organization of lawyers with the capacity of a legal person established in accordance with the Law on Advocacy and Statute of the Bar.
Kosovo Law Institute – is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organization, a specialized think tank in the field of justice, which deals with the advancement of law. Mission of the KLI is to strengthen the rule of law and improve access to justice for citizens.
