Pristina, 29 July 2021 – Kosovo Law Institute (KLI), on Thursday, received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Pristina, Mrs. Carin Lobbezoo and the representative of the embassy, ​​Mrs. Venera Ramaj, Senior Rule of Law Officer.

Discussion were also held concerning the rule of law in the Republic of Kosovo, respectively the functional review of the rule of law, the vetting process, the Law on Conflict of Interest, inter-institutional cooperation and cooperation of civil society organizations in Kosovo.

The completion of the Project on “Advancing criminal procedural rights in Kosovo” were also discussed, the same was implemented by KLI in cooperation with CLARD, Fair Trials Europe and the Netherlands Helsinki Committee, supported by the Dutch Embassy in Pristina through the MATRA Project.

The purpose of this project was to promote the rights of defendants for a fair trial in Kosovo. Through this project, the Legal Expert Advisory Panel in Kosovo (LEAP Kosovo), a member of the European Network of Fair Trials, was established.
