Anti-Corruption Week 2025 opens with a symbolic protest action by KLI, FOL and INPO

Pristina, 8 December 2025 – “Anti-Corruption Week 2025” commenced on Monday with a symbolic action organized by the coalition of civil society organizations, the Kosovo Law Institute (KLI), FOL Movement, and Initiative for Progress (INPO), aimed at raising their voice against corruption and the policies that are paralyzing the functioning of the state.

At the opening of the symbolic action, the NGO coalition unveiled a banner announcing a one-day strike held on Monday, carrying the message: “Today we are on strike. We protest against corruption and the policies that are paralyzing the state.”

During the press conference, Arrita Rezniqi from KLI emphasized that this action serves as a call for institutional action and reflection at a time when the country is facing widespread legal violations, stalled reforms, and an urgent need to fight corruption. She added that civil society analyses, warnings about institutional capture, and the identification of systemic issues have not been met with adequate institutional response or action.

The coalition highlighted several key concerns, including: the lack of comprehensive justice reform, the failure to initiate the vetting process, corporatization within the prosecutorial system, adoption of unconstitutional laws, absence of an Anti-Corruption Strategy, suspension of strategic dialogue with the United States, lack of social dialogue, and increasing attacks and pressure on journalists, civil society, and justice institutions. All these factors are undermining citizens’ quality of life, the rule of law, economic development, and public trust in democracy.

As part of today’s action, the coalition also released a short video presenting the main reasons why KLI-FOL-INPO have chosen to protest in this form. The video can be found at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AKkmFckY2/

“Anti-Corruption Week 2025” will continue tomorrow and in the days ahead with additional activities, which can be followed in the official agenda published here: Agjenda-JKK-2025-ALB.pdf.
