{"id":23457,"date":"2019-11-26T12:35:15","date_gmt":"2019-11-26T12:35:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kli-ks.org\/?p=23457"},"modified":"2019-12-03T10:28:11","modified_gmt":"2019-12-03T10:28:11","slug":"klis-management-advocate-for-the-implementation-of-recommendations-to-the-head-of-the-kosovo-judicial-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kli-ks.org\/en\/klis-management-advocate-for-the-implementation-of-recommendations-to-the-head-of-the-kosovo-judicial-council\/","title":{"rendered":"KLI\u2019s management advocate for the implementation of recommendations to the Head of Kosovo Judicial Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Pristina, November 26 2019 \u2013 <\/strong>Management of the Kosovo Law Institute (KLI) Ehat Miftaraj, Betim Musliu and Yll Zekaj, on Tuesday, have met the Head of Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), Skender \u00c7o\u00e7aj and Director of Secretariat of KJC, Shkelzen Maliqi, to hand them over the reports of systematic monitoring and research of the justice system in the country, as well as to advocate for the implementation of KLI recommendations. \u201cWithin the cooperation with the Kosovo Judicial Council, we had a useful meeting with the Head and Director of Secretariat of KJC, Mr. Skender \u00c7o\u00e7aj and Mr. Shkelzen Maliqi, to whom we handed over the hard copies of KLI reports published during 2019. We discussed findings, assessments and main recommendations of these reports of the KLI, for which we received the commitment of the KJC leaders, that they will be seriously reviewed to be implemented by the judicial system\u201d, said Ehat Miftaraj, executive director of KLI.<\/p>\n<p>Miftaraj has raised for discussion some of the specific reports within the mandate of the Kosovo Judicial Council, for which has requested from the heads of the KJC to review findings, assessments and recommendations of the KLI. \u201cWe assess the cooperation as with the KJC, the Presidents of Courts and the judges individually. Their cooperation enables us to do professional work, which represents the reality of the functioning of the justice system in Kosovo. Among the topics with interest that we discussed in the meeting is raise of citizens\u2019 access to justice, treating unresolved cases and aspect of raise of accountability of judges and supporting staff to increase efficiency and effectiveness of providing justice services to citizens\u201d, said Miftaraj.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Kosovo Judicial Council, Skender \u00c7o\u00e7aj, has assesses the work of the KLI in monitoring and research of important topics in the field of justice and police, which according to him, reflect the real situation of functioning of the justice and security system in the country. \u201cWe have a close cooperation with the KLI in terms of professional engagement and in the process of monitoring and research of this organization. KJC is open and cooperates closely with KLI in the process of making secondary legislation, where the contribution of this organization is substantial and we use KLI\u2019s expertise to increase the quality of our work in providing our services to citizens and the public\u201d, said \u00c7o\u00e7aj.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, Head \u00c7o\u00e7aj, emphasized that he and the Kosovo Judicial Council constantly reviewed with priority the findings, assessments and recommendations that derived from KLI\u2019s reports to improve the performance of the Judicial Council and the judiciary in general. \u201cKLI has proven that it bases its criticism on independent and professional research.
